Karen Keppler Wins IWAY Award
Karen
Keppler, Executive Director of Smart Partners of Manitoba, Brings
home a National Honor for her work in Canada’s Information Technology
sector.
On November 22, 2004 Karen Keppler was one of six distinguished individuals honored for having made an outstanding contribution to the advancement of Canada's information society. CANARIE presented Karen with the IWAY award at the organization's 9th annual IWAY (Information Highway) awards ceremony in Halifax, Nova Scotia. Karen’s IWAY category is Community Service and honors her many years of work in the sector most of which were in voluntary positions.
"The work done by this year's IWAY award winners has contributed to the social and economic well-being of Canadians," said Andrew K. Bjerring, President and CEO of CANARIE. "They have provided leadership that helps maintain Canada's position as a leading nation in the information and communications technology sector".
